The REMIX :: Laptop Cooler :: Laptop Cooling Pad
I wanted it! I needed it! It’s cool and I must have on! BUT I don’t want to spend the money.
It’s time for a remix.
I wanted a laptop cooler a.k.a. laptop pad. A passive laptop cooler costs $12.00 to $15.00.
Drinking coffee at Starbucks, I became a bit envious. I see those latte’ drinking, apple notebook, Iphone techo dudes (and dudettes) with their Laptop Coolers. You know what I’m talking about.
Well, I wanted to have my coffee and drink it too. But I didn’t want to spend more than $3 bucks.
Time to REMIX. Time to go to the Thrift Store. I walked down the aisle and I found this thing. I still don’t know what it is. But I know that it’d make a great Laptop Cooling pad.
Here is what Wikipedia says, “Studies conducted by California Polytechnic University show that heat build-up in notebooks is reduced by 15 to 20 percent, when a laptop is situated at an angle compared to a laptop in a horizontal position. Free air cooling which is a passive method and requires no additional power has been proven as an effective method of laptop cooling. Many coolers that utilize this passive method are also available.
Wikipedia is always right

$ 2.99 – Kitchen Thingy (Local ThriftStore)
$ 0.00 – 2 Corks
$ 0.00 – 1 machine screws

$ 2.99 – Grand Total

The project is relatively easy to complete. All you must do is attach the corks to the Kitchen Thingy’s underside. This will elevate the Kitchen Thingy at an angle so when the laptop is placed on it, it’ll be at an angle.
Steps::
(1) Cut one of corks in half. This goes on top of the other cork.
(2) Drill a hole into both corks.
(3) Place the corks under one of the holes in the Kitchen Thingy.
(4) Screw the corks to the Kitchen Thingy.
