:::::::::::: The ReMix

When I moved from Columbia, SC to Marietta, GA, I had to decide what to bring and what to throw away.  My broken futon almost didn’t make the cut.  But, I like to work in my office.  My then girlfriend (now my wife) would hang out with me because she said she didn’t have a place to sit comfortably.

The decision was made.  I decided to bring the futon home and give it an upgrade.

:::::::::::: ReMix StEpS

This project was difficult to complete.  I had to find the replacement slats.  I bolted them onto the frame so the futon is much sturdier than ever.  Next, I painted it black.  Orginally, it was a battleship gray.  For some strange reason, IKEA loves to paint their furniture this unappealing color.  Oh well.  I painted it jet black.  Kewl.

Finally, I purchased a $7.50 sheet from IKEA to cover the red cushion.  It would have cost $100 to purchase a new cover from IKEA.  $7.50 is much better than $100.
